Lorraine O’Grady’s landmark series Miscegenated Family Album, on view at Spagnuolo Gallery, juxtaposes photographs from the artist’s family archive with images of Egyptian artifacts, creating what she described as an “unresolvable conversation.” Through these pairings, O’Grady explores themes of race, ancestry, family history, and memorialization.
